Families often become at-risk when parents are faced with the challenges of raising children without knowledge, experience, or a support system. The Child and Family Research Partnership studies how policies and programs can best support the complex needs of these at-risk families to improve outcomes for children and the whole family.
Families can be supported through community-level programs and approaches. Communities can be determined by a variety of ways including need, family structure, geography, and vocation.
Changes in demographic trends and family structure have impacted the financial landscape for today's families. Support from public and private programs can be the difference between living above or below the poverty line for at-risk families.
